Adriana Norat is a Brazilian double bassist, composer and sound designer based in New York City.
As a double bassist she has performed with ensembles such as the Chamber Orchestra of UNESP (Chamber Orchestra of the State of Sao Paulo), the Chamber Orchestra of USP (Chamber Orchestra of the University of Sao Paulo), the Jazz Sinfonica Orchestra of Sao Paulo. As a composer, Adriana has collaborated with renowned musicians and ensembles such as ICE (International Contemporary Ensemble), the Chamber Orchestra of USP (Sao Paulo), ETHEL String Quartet (NYC), and the Quadril String Quartet (Sao Paulo).
Norat holds a Master’s Degree in Composition from City University of New York’s, Brooklyn College, and a MFA in Media Scoring from Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema.
